1. Facing the Giants
I have watched this movie countless times and I must say everyone should watch it! Although this film revolve around the theme of American football, it actually relate so much to how we should live our lives. Facing the Giants remind me that everything is possible!
2. Fireproof
Frankly, this movie is the best relationship-based movie I watch so far particularly on marriage. This film is a perfect example of how to be the change that you want to see around you. A thought provoking quote from the movie – “Fireproof does not mean that fire will never comes, but when it comes, you are able to withstand it.”
For some reasons, I am pretty active in seminars and talks recently in the topics of Feng Shui, Ba Zi, Numerology and water crystal research by Dr Masaru Emoto (this particular one is most interesting but I will blog about it separately). For the last few months, the new knowledge I attained have made me realized the power of nature and how humans are affected by merely a few things.
I have just returned from a course that relates to Numerology. This course teaches us how our birth date determines our character and some important traits. After this course, I have done some research and would like to share an interesting thing that I have found! Continue reading
It is challenging for most people to set up a e-commerce system to start selling online. You either choose to create your own store using available CMS like Zen Cart or even Joomla but this is not easy especially if you have no experience in setting up websites prior to this. Another very simple approach is to set up a eBay store and leverage their traffic. The downside of this is that you will not have full control over your business (anything can happen to your eBay account from time to time). I am happy to share a hybrid model that is easy to implement in this post =)

It has been a year since I have started my business, WebSprout Consulting. Time flies especially in the beginning when things are not working according to my plan. Thinking back, few miracles have happened to me and I am grateful to people who is there to help me and motivate me in difficult times.
In this post, I want to share with you some of the changes that happened to me as compared to the time when I was in the comfort zone a year ago. I think most Entrepreneurs can relate to what I have written below but more important, I wrote the following to share with people who are starting their own business.
The following are three major changes in my life that I have experienced for the past one year:
1. I spend more time doing rather than reading now
I used to read a lot of books (especially on business, entrepreneurship etc) before I started my business. I spent at least 2hrs reading everyday and I thought that I know all, if not, 80% of how to run a business. I was dead wrong, three months after I started WebSprout Consulting, I figure out that I know nothing about business..
There is a saying that too much reading will make a person lazy. If you find that you are spending a lot of time reading than doing something, it is time to act.
Actually I find that reading after you do something is much more useful and make it so much easier for you to remember and apply the new things you have read. I always remember the first lesson my business mentors taught me – Ready, Fire, Aim.
2. I spend more time thinking rather than talking now
Talking about ideas and things you are going to do is good. But doing this for months is not productive at all… I am sure you have time when you come out with a good idea and want to share it with your friends but too often you find that no one except you are truly excited about your idea. It is the thoughts and action to the idea that will make an impact.
John C Maxwell has written a book on thinking strategies where he talks about Focus Thinking in one of the chapters. To me, focus thinking is what gets things done. Most of the time we are lazy to think and hence, things remain unchanged. It is when we put in effort and time to ONLY think about a problem then we will start to see possible solutions.
I have personally experienced the power of focus thinking for my training and it really helps me in getting more trainees every month. Try this out! Allocate 30 minutes to just think about solutions to a problem that has been bothering you for quite some time. It helps =)
3. I spend more time giving than receiving now
Giving can be in many forms.I used to start selling when I meet prospects and talk about ME, ME and MEeee all the time. It is only after I join BNI then I realise that business is all about relationship. And relationship builds up only when we start to give.
A very powerful technique is to educate your prospects and ask them their main concern about their businesses currently. Asking and listening are the main skills I have picked up that have helped me a great deal in closing prospects.
I am taking a few days off from work after writing this scheduled post to think and plan (also to celebrate WebSprout Consulting Anniversary!) for the year ahead particularly on using the concept of leveraging. I will be back in action on the 04 Nov.

I have a chance to sit down with a friend recently and learn about her recent change from employee status to someone who is totally in charge of her income now (sales professional).
It is easy to get started, but sustainability is another issue. While sharing with this friend of mine, we talked about the topic of quitting and I share with her 2 principles (to be exact, 2 questions) I follow to determine whether something is worth doing anymore or not.
On the 26 Sept, Typhoon Ondoy hits Philippines killing more than 100 and affecting hundreds of thousands of people. Just when I thought this disaster is over, the nation’s weather bureau announced that the second storm (Parma) is planning to strike today.. I am so troubled when I hear about this and google about what we can do to help them out.
Time to help out
I have been heavily disturbed by personal matters recently but it is nothing compared to losing love ones and homes. I believe we should do our best to help out the victims in whatever ways we can, no matter where and who we are.
Philippines National Red Cross has established an official PayPal account for donation purpose and I hope to rally your help and let us do our part in giving back to those who are in need. The following is the Ondoy Relief Aid exercise that we can make a donation through PayPal.
I pray for the victims and hope the storm to subside at the soonest.
It is nature that we want to make quick money and generate a good amount cash in the shortest period of time. In fact, I have been asked by many people about this question whenever I’m in a networking event or some seminars. The response I gave is YES! But its never easy for people who are new to the Internet Business Ecosystem.
