International Networking Week – 01 to 05 Feb 2010

Today is the start of International Networking Week. It spans from 01 to 05 Feb 2010. If you are not aware of this, it is an initiative by BNI (Business Network International) and many other organisations are getting involved as well.

Ivan Misner, the Founder of BNI, has created a video that talks about this International Networking Week but more importantly, he illustrates a story in the following video and I think his story and the takeaway is well-worth the 7 minute if you watch it.

I will be attending the National BNI Networking event this Friday at Suntec and hope to bring you some updates and valuable contacts by end of this week =)

At the meantime, go network!

Income Explosion Seminar by Sales Partners Singapore

Selling happens in every part of our lives and to me, I think everyone must know how to sell. After starting my own business, I strongly believe that if you know how to sell yourself, you will not have any fear of instability especially if you are holding a full-time job at this economy.

However, the reality is, not many people want to learn sales because of the many misconceptions.

I attended the Income Explosion Seminar by Sales Partners Singapore yesterday and feel that  I must really talk about this event as it not only reveals the real meaning behind sales and how we can grow a business systematically. In case you are not aware of this, Sales Partners is founded by Blair Singer, a Sales Coach with Robert Kiyosaki’s team. Robert Kiyosaki is the author of the top selling financial book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad“.

I believe you would agree with me that the time where we learn most and have a break-through in something is when we are in it. Things will not just happen when we are reading, studying or talking about it. Having said that, we always wait for the right time to do the things that we have always planned. As you may have discovered, the ‘right time’ never comes..

30 Tips for Business Networking

Before the Event

1. Know the location -It helps to know where the event is going to be held beforehand. It is both frustrating and embarrassing to appear in the wrong place and keep calling the host who is busy talking to his / her guest.

Business Networking Events for Business Owners

BNI HarvestBelieve it or not, we are fortunate in Singapore that there are more than enough networking events for business owners. The only constraint is your time and how comfortable you find in every different events. I myself is actively involved in ASME and BNI events for my business. Besides these two events, you can also find other opportunities especially with the current popularity in social media platform such as Facebook.
